Blog Illustration

In an effort to cope with limited royalty free images available for my own blog, I began illustrating each of my posts. I quickly was asked to provide illustrations for other blogs and clients, using a blend of hand drawn and painted images with limited digital manipulation in illustrator and photoshop.

What's in a Complete Blog Set?

An Illustration

I start with a hand drawn illustration of the subject matter. In this case, a portrait of the lead character in the film the post is reviewing, 'Beyond the Lights.'

A Pin

A highly pinnable image is graphic, well-branded to your site style, and tells you exactly what you'll find in the blog post. Included at the top, bottom, or middle of your post, they encourage readers to pin and read later, or share with friends.

A Header

If your site has featured images, a dynamic header image is a must. I stylize the blog illustration with hand lettering or type as desired.
